Check these pictures out!!
10/04/00 at 10:30:21
I know the pictures with the trees and what appears to be a man praying is a fake, that was exposed some time back. The others may be real.

Really? Those pictures are fake? Shame, they looked quite good...and I've seen them up in quite a few people's houses! It's funny, cause when we went to germany (where that forest of the trees is supposed to be) we asked the group leaders if we could visit it and they said, no, it doesn't exist any more because the german government, when they saw it, pulled the trees out, but luckily someone had taken a picture of it before they were able to!
But, I was thinking about this the other day, because I come across newspaper articles like this quite often. The most common occurence is the name of Allah in arabic spelt out in a tomato (with the veins). Now i have seen some of the photos taken and some of them are very dodgy, and a few have looked real...the difficulty is, that whether it is or isn't spelling out Allah, sometimes these people get too excited and call the newspapers (yes, these cases have all been reported in local non-Muslim papers), freeze the tomato, or put it on ice, and have flocks of people visiting their house to get a glimpse of the "holy fruit", even from hundreds of miles away.
I was just wondering, have any of you come across "holy fruits or vegetables", or know anyone who has? Should we be more careful about reporting these "miracles" or do they legitimately deserve the attention they seem to get.
It would be good to know your opinions on this, cause in the past two years i've seen stories like this come and go. Almost all the cases we've had here have been in Yorkshire, and north-east England, and while tomatoes are the most common, we've had an aubergine and a pear as well.

Allah's signs are in all His creation, and His name is probably written in more places than we can even see. In addition, all of His creation is constantly praising Him in ways that we cannot comprehend. For these reasons, I think that although seeign Allah's name written on something we should take it as one of His signs but not make a big deal out of it and start venerating whatever the object is. It's probably a very common occurence and we're the ones who don't see it.
10/04/00 at 15:38:36
Venerating objects with Allah's names in it or on it, seems like a form of shirk to me. Am I correct? Or am I wrong?
I mean its totally awesome that Allah's signs are manifest everywhere, but still, we shouldn't put them up on walls and call them "holy fruits."
Not even the Qur'an is hloy. Qur'an is Noble however. The word "Holy" is for God only. God uses it for Himself only and not for any other oject.

The discussion of the name of Allah found in nature reminds me of the ayah:
"The seven heavens and the earth and all that is therein, glorify Him and there is not a thing but glorifies His Praise. But you understand not their glorification. Truly, He is Ever Forbearing, Oft-Forgiving." [Qur'an 17:44]
PS "We gave Jesus the son of Mary Clear (Signs) and strengthened him with the _Holy_ spirit." [2:87]

I believe we discussed this before as well, but just to add to the other sisters' and brothers' comments, I think that if we look all around us and notice nature, certain things that happen to us and other people we will notice our own signs that point quite clearly to teaching us something, a miracle on its own. While it is interesting to find something like the above in real life, we should remember that the real miracle of Islam is the Quran and it's message. We don't need to focus on photographs and eggs (fake or otherwise) to prove our faith is right.

I agree that all the creations of Allah-u Teala worship him in any way. When we went to Erie Canal Park in Syracuse with Br. Djafer, he was explaining to us how all the creations of Allah, including trees, plants, animals, worship Allah in every way, they pray, make dua.
It's very interesting, but something even better, life is interesting itself. Meaning all the creations around us, how Allah has created this universe and many more that we don't know of and much more.

Betul I loved that, he said that all of nature is in dhikr of Allah, and when we are in dhikr, we are in harmony with all of nature.

My father goes out in our backyard to read the Qur'an and to pray sometimes. One day I went out there because I had nothing better to do. I was checking out the veggies my mom grows there, (our backyard is so huge, i swear its like a small farm), so anyway, there i am checking the dozen of different veggies, (we eat organic veggies only), and my dad tells me to water the grass. I made a face and he tells me that I shouldn't do that, that Allah doesnt like that sort of an attitude. So I laugh and start to water the lawn and occasionaly flash him smiles. (To make up for making a face...) My father then says, I didn't say that for myself, I said that on behalf of the grass. I was like ,"Whoohhhh!!!!!!!!...let me go get mom..." I gave him a strange look and bit back a laugh so he won't be ofended. Then he explains himself. He said, that everything in nature worships Allah, and if the grass dies, it will cease to worship Allah. So by watering the grass, I am helping a creation of Allah so that the creation can keep on Prasing Him. By my watering the grass, i also get a reward--helping nature to worship. When I walk onto my front lawn and when I plant folwers or water my backyard, I feel this *profound* peace within me, that's hard to describe in words. It relaxes me very much.

I really think this is all gone too far,I mean the sacred fruits and all.It is all coincidence,I had an experience last week, and if a christian saw what I saw he will come and tell you see WE are right....do you know what I saw when I cut a tomato in half horizontally???Well, there was a cross...a perfect cross, you know the one with equal length and width and a little larger at the ends??
So what is this supposed to mean, tell me.
Allah is one and we know it ,all of His creations make thikr and worship Him.But all this about the sacred fruits and the signs that could be anything artistic minds can translate into whatever they see.

Yah i dont see anything special about these few images trees/tomatoes etc...
Allah swt has made so many visible signs, if he wanted he could write ALlah in every plant or whatever. Our belief should not be riled up just when things like these turn up, since most likely they are simple coincidences.

Watering the Grass and Planting the Flowers....

Watering the Grass so they can live and
hence continue to worship Allah...
I never thought of it that way....
I've seen the peace and calm that exists
on people who garden as a hobby.
Also seen a type of 'Dawah' peace and
calm and evangelical steadfastness in their
cause by some people who call themselves
Just imagine all those Rainforest trees
munched down in the Amazon, those trees
can no longer worship Allah.
Pretty deep thoughts Saleema, about
the Grass worshipping Allah.

At this one anti-islam site, they were ridiculing this notion of holy fruits with Allah's name spelled in Arabic and stuff.
I knew that this was going to happen! That someone was bound to notice this silliness and superstition and use it against us. Holy fruit??? The things you hear these days.
