|Fiancee not realizing interest significance|

I have a problem and I need advice about it.
I live in USA. I recently got engaged to a girl living in another state
with her family. We are planning to get married mid next year,
She is 24 and graduated last May as a lawyer. She is quite religious,
observes hijab among other things and is knowledgeable about Islam.
She comes from an above middle class family i.e. financially
comfortable. So she never had to never had to support herself.
Her goal is to do social service, start an Non profit organization to
help muslims particularly muslim women.
To fund her graduate education, she took out a huge loan, an interest
based loan. Now, the problem is as follows:
- She hasn't started looking for a job. Although she admits that it is
entirely her responsibility financially, but instead of trying to find
a job, she wants to do social service.
- My argument is based on Islam. Interest is as serious as me having a
gambling problem which I don't. Not, only Islam has a huge punishment
for it but it is also financially crippling for a family's economy.
- As opposed to her, I grew up in Pakistan and am used to working hard.
I have been working since I was 23. My argument is that she needs to
make finding a job a priority as not only interest is a very bad thing in
Islam but also interest based loans can get out of hands.
- I think she needs to make the transition from a student life to a
professional life. She thinks a job should be a perfect job and I beg to
differ. I think a job is work and nothing more. My responsibility is to
support myself and my future family. I told her that her responsibility
is to pay her loans and for that she needs to find a job. Somehow, she
thinks that she needs to think about it.
- She has to help herself and save herself from hellfire before she can
save anyone else. I think her top priority is to pay loan.
Please advice me how to solve this problem. I don't believe I'm in the
wrong here but I may be wrong in my approach.
Thank you in advance!
