"Reflections On Importance of Conscience in the Quran"
By Harun Yahya.
In this post modern era, there are many voices, so many choices, loud, strident, calling us on paths known, and unknown. The choice on which “path” to choose, has many people in a state of constant anxiety, restlessness, want, and some simply the deep, dead void of apathy. Others focus their energies into work, entertainment, making sure they do just the minimal vicarious acts of atonement to make them feel good about themselves and their place on this earth with little regard for the next.
The author addresses the roots of these “voices”, and how to distinguish with alacrity the highest voice beckoning us to wisdom, justice, love, nobility and true sincerity and that is the Conscience within us. This voice is common to all humanity, this voice has risen many to heights some can’t even begin to conceive, this voice is the true inspiration from above. Can you imagine a world full of highly conscientious people? What is it then that turns us into tyrants, hypocrites, liars, rapists? What is it that can harden a soul to become obtuse to the One who Created it all? What is it that can arrogate us to the point we feel “self sufficient”?
Each self has been proportioned with depravity and conscience, each calling man onto two divergent paths. From the moment that we gain consciousness (to differentiate between right and wrong) we are basically accountable for all our actions and the consequences thereof.
Harun begins his argument by first affirming the existence of the Creator. He differentiates between those who question and those who ignore their purpose in this world. In such a perfectly designed universe, what purpose do we serve? Many have asked this question, and its clearly outlined in the Quran. Submission of our wills to Allah. The intention to submit to the voice within you that is constantly making you aware of your righteousness. The Quran is the best “SELF GUIDE” book that you can find in a world screaming with pseudo spiritual guidance. He also delves into the different excuses man makes for not following their conscience and digs deeper into the negative powers against conscience.
The beauty of true righteousness lies in the tranquility of the soul, the rhythm of finally being whole, the serenity of home. The abode of conscientious people on this earth is full of tests, but it’s the resilience, faith, and peace in bowing selflessly to the One who keeps them intertwined in reverence and awe.
The wretchedness of disconnection, mistrust, fragmentation, stress, anxiety that comes with the confused state of soul so common nowadays is in need of healing, need of the Divine Mercy that cures all ailments and refocuses tainted visions to restore a newer more profound meaning of life. Life is short, don’t waste it indulging your whims and fantasies, the repercussions will not end with our physical death.
I highly recommend his works to any true seeker of knowledge and an in depth look at our selves in the light of Truth. His site is full of awesome articles and books that can be downloaded for free. Check it out : www.harunyahya.com
