Well i know i ask alot of questions :)
1) my first problem is about one of my uncle/familyfriend/w.e. He's not muslim but whenever we go to visti them or they come to visit us he always says Assalam-Alaikum and starts reciting surah Al-Ihklas. I have no idea how to respond to him so i just smile and say hi. Any idea on what to do?
2) And my second problem is: well inshAllah next yr. i plan to wear hijab and all these years i havent been wearing one so i haven't really had the "best" of friends. I mean they aren't very bad like drink and stuff but they aren't exaclty good they wear skirts and might have boyfriends, and i don't want people , if im wearing hijab next year , to think becuz i am around them Muslim people do those things to. so im trying to represent the Deen well :) ...there's no one else in my school that wears hijab except one girl and next yr. she'll be going back Michigan. So im basically going to be alone and im hoping that there will be some freshmen that are wearing hijab but if they aren't then i don't really know what to do? ..should i leave my friends? be a loner? ...
Sallams and thank you very much for the help :-*

1.) Maybe he is considering con/reversion. Try to talk to him about the beauty and meaning of the surah he recites. Start up a discussion about Islam. See if he has any questions about Islam, or ask him where/how he learned that surah and if he'd like more (give him a copy of the Quran).
2.) Congrats on making the decision. I know EXACTLY how you feel because I was in the EXACT situation. Trust me. Do not back down...even if you have to be a "loner." True friends wouldn't leave you for something like this, and if you really feel like they are holding you back from being the person you want to become...then they aren't worth it. You never know, maybe once you start wearing hijab, you can set the example that might spark a change in your friends' behavior.
Be confident and sure of yourself, even if you are alone. You have Islam (and us :)) on your side so you can handle any questions, responses, remarks, etc that come your way. You'll be like walking da'wa! :)
And lastly, don't worry. What's the worst that can happen?
Take care and let me know if you need anything. :)

Well he kinda says it in a joking way -not like haha Islam or w/e ..just so he could make us smile ..i doubt he's thinking of becomeing a con/rev. , he's a pretty strong Christian.
And THANK YOU very much for those word of encouragement ...i really needed them :) My friends aren't holding me back in that sense ,becuz most of them are really supportive ..it's just do u think it would be wrong to have friends that wore skirts and tight jeans ? .. ???

If it were me I would ask the uncle if he knew the meaning of that which he was reciting. Then we would have a discussion about this beautiful surah which praises Allah (swt).
There is a story of one of the Prophet (Saw)'s companions, he used to recite Surah ikhlas everytime he lead the salat, some people reported this to the Beloved Prophet (saw), who asked his companion for the reason. To which the companion replied, because I love to praise my Lord, and the Prophet (saw) replied and Allah loves you...well the story went something like that, if i remember where I read it I will dig it up and quote it for you, reference and all (don't hold your breadth though, I have children and an imminent in-law visit :o).
As to number two, I would decide, whether, having these friends will undermine, my decision to wear the hijaab and to begin practicing Islam more deligently. If the answer is yes I would try and distance my self from these girls. We are instructed to make friends with the righteous and good Muslims.
However becoming a loner, would not be advisable, it would make you unhappy, and besides you need friends at school. Are there strictly no other girls around who you could hang out with?? If no, be friends with these girls but remember that it is very easy to get sucked into doing the wrong thing, especially at school, especially at your age.
Can I ask why you are waiting till next year to adopt the Hijaab??

InshAllah ill try and do it one day :)
And about number 2 , there are no girls that i know i go to a really big "ghetto" school i guess you can say so there's really not a lot of pious grls , there was this one girl who was my hope and kept me strong all yr. BUT she's moving back to michigan so yeah... we have an MSA but ( not to back-bite) the president wears like skirts to school and no one wears hijab ( InshAllah imma change that next yr. and try to make it better :)) ,so yeah there's really no one , im hoping and praying that there's some freshmen to come in .but i dont kno. Oh and I decided to wear hijab this yr. because i realized i wasting my time, there was no point in what i was doing. And recently ive been going to a whole bunch of Halaqa's and i realized that i really wanted to be the best Muslimah i could be so yeah :)
thanks for reading and replying!
