Asalaamu Alaikum  bro

JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Judicial Council announced yesterday that Sunday, Dec. 7, would be the Day of Arafat and Monday, Dec. 8, Eid Al-Adha. According to a statement carried by SPA, Saturday, Nov. 29, was Dul Hijjah 1 and that there were 30 days in Dul Qaada “because the council did not receive any report of moon sighting.”

So what day are you guys observing Arafat and Eid then?

This always confuses me br.timbuktu. Because Arafat Day refers to when the pilgrims congregate on Mount Arafat and Muslims around the world not participating in Hajj fast, technically we should be following Saudi here because it makes no sense to be fasting on 9th Dhul-Hijjah in your own country when there's no-one in the plain of Arafat  idunno It's not a problem for us because our mosque always follows Saudi and we can never see the moon anyway.

Wassalam
