peace be upon you

Provoked: is a film based on the  true story of Kiranjit Ahluwalia, a mother of two boys. Kiranjit suffered 10 years of domestic abuse in London, UK. Eventually she could not take it any more and set fire to her sleeping husband's feet after dosing his clothes with petrol. She thought it would burn his feet and he would then know what pain is all about. He died five days later, and her charge was changed from arson to murder.

I do not want to say more although the true story is available on the net, by searching for Kiranjit Ahluwalia, Or the movie "provoked". A book "Circle of Light" has also been published as her autobiography coauthored by her and Rahila Gupta.
