In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Oh Allah, Please Send Your Angels of Mercy to Gaza

Lama, 4 years old, went to sleep in the dark, shivering and hungry.

The windows have been shattered by the constant bombing, there's no water, no electricity.

"Daddy, everything will be better tomorrow, right?"

"Don't worry sweetheart, pray to Allah, He will help us."

She went to sleep, dreaming of help that would soon come.

"The people of the world will help us, if they know what is happening to us.  They won't let us suffer, right Daddy?"

The Apache helicopter struck at midnight, the whole building is in flames, destroyed.

"Daddy, where are you???  It hurts dadda...I can't breathe..."

Lama went to sleep, dreaming of help to come, and awoke to the sound of explosions, screaming, fire, destruction.

Over 900 lives, taken one by one, in front of the world's eyes.

What has the Western world done to stop the massacre?  Why has the Muslim world done nothing?  Will we sit by and witness the destruction of a poor, defenseless people, like we did when Bosnia was crying, its people being ethnically cleansed by war criminals?

Why does our Congress condemn rockets that cause property damage, yet they don't also condemn Cruise Missiles and white-phosphorus munitions funded by our tax dollars that have killed or maimed thousands of innocent civilians, and destroyed mosques, churches, schools, universities, and crippled an entire people?

Why does the President-elect have time to prepare financial legislation, but does not even have a moment to condemn the massacre unfolding before his very eyes?

Why are Muslim leaders indifferent to the plight of their brethren?

Why the hypocrisy?  How do we expect the world to view us?

They gave their lives for Allah, to live free from the yoke of tyranny.  Let their struggles live on within us, to establish truth and justice in the world.

We must return to Islam, to the Quran, to the Prophet, peace be upon him, we must keep alive the message of truth for which they died.  Only then can we truly pay tribute to the sacrifice they gave, they sacrificed their souls so that the Word of Allah would be the highest.

Oh Allah, please send down your angels of mercy to the people of Gaza, to cover them with their Wings, and raise the innocent souls of their dead to the peaceful heavens, away from the cruel hands of their tormentors, to the gardens of Paradise, which await the righteous.

Be merciful to those on earth, and the One in the Heavens will be merciful to you.
