Having read all the posts thro this time, I'll add my half a pennies worth. Going with Cambridgesisters post, these are the ones I think are incorrect;
bave - bathe
danstez - downstairs
Haitch - 'H' unless one is specifically talking about the letter of the alphabet one never uses the h sound in Essex....(trust me on that one)
Ja - do you, seriously it goes like 'watchja fink about this?'
levva - leather
nartamean - know what I mean?
neeva - neither
roofless - ruthless/hardhearted, without morals etc etc etc
seevin - seething (as in seething with anger)
tan ass - town house
wawazat - what was that? as in run that by me again?
wennoff- went off , took off, its more used in argument and confrontation description, eg 'she wennoff on one...'
yafta - you have to
What can I say, I live in Essex. Mind you, my english is accentless unless I'm speaking to someone with a pronounced cockney accent and off I go, I don't know why I do this I wish I could stop it, worst on the phone I tend to go madly posh! I think mebbe I should be on medication or something!
