Sad and heart breaking but how many mother's have died young leaving behind young children?  My mother died when I was eleven, left six of us behind and I was the eldest. She was only 30!

I was in situation between life and death on December 25, 2005 in the middle of nowhere in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on a UNICEF mission facing 7 gun men, all who had  AK47 guns trained at colleague and I.  My first thought was that I will never see my sons again! Uncanny but the first thought is always of my kids just  as all mothers do.

But deep down and as a Muslim, I still understood that if my time was up, then I will die there. There is no such thing as an untimely death. It only happens when your time is up.

The Almighty Allah says,

"When a servant thinks of Me, I am near.
When he invokes Me, I am with him.
If he reflects on Me in secret, I reply in secret,
And if he acknowledges Me in an assembly,
I acknowledge him in a far superior assembly."

- Prophet Muhammad (SAW), as reptd by Abu Huraira

Salaam,

Nothing can replace the loss of ones mother...You're right though, when the time comes, it comes. But still...life is never the same...
