As salaamu alaikum

Listening to the news this morning, I heard that the FDA has deemed that cloned meat is considered safe to eat as is the products (i.e. milk) from cloned animals.  The "person on the street"question was "Would you eat cloned meat?" All of the people said "No" but when asked why, the best most could come up with was "I don't know, but it would be cloned."  What's worse is that meat or other products from cloned animals would not have to be labeled as such.  The only way a consumer would be able to know for certain that they weren't buying products from cloned animals would be to buy organic products, which as we know is pricey and with the economysuch as it is, who could really afford to buy only organic products.

Well, I think it's unnatural so I just don't think I could do it.  In general I think cloning poses some serious ethical questions and I still wonder just how close science is to cloning humans.

This could be considered a "topic questions", but I opted to put it here under "Health and Nutrition", but I pose the question "Would you eat cloned meat?"

As salaamu alaikum
