This is a highly recommended recipe book and here's some details
on it. Some Reviews on this book
This is a great book - great in interest, in humanity, in production ... and in usefulness. It is interesting to see how indian recipes have been translated to match ingredients available in South Africa, and also to be encouraged to re-translate, as a result, into what is possible in Britain. I battled to get a copy chiefly because I wanted help in making "indian" styles of bread - but there is, of course, far more, magnificently illustrated and introduced with background notes. Even if you do not have the requisite army of sisters, cousins and aunts (aunts and grandmothers especially, I think) to work 24 hours at a time to produce meals for gatherings of 40, there are plenty of well categorised day to day recipes set out in good, workmanlike fashion. Expensive book here, perhaps, but I recommend it. Long live the womens' groups of South Africa!
