Peeps i Loveee this:

Bare escentuals mineral makeup. Try it out at Sephora!

and I have a problem finding a good eye pencil cuz I really think everything desi has lead in it. And even the American brands many are found to have lead but the major problem I always had was sharpening and now u don't have to to with this!!

I do want to try MAC foundation and their black eye paint stuff... one day!!

Any recommendations for good sunscreen for desi skin? ie usually dry What happens is that I burn on my face and my hands get black!! weird i know...  :'(

Salams laddddddddyeees,

My sis in law brought back some Argan oil from Morroco (and a gooooorgeoussss dress for me too btw!). I just tried it twice so far so not sure if it's my imagination but it does seem like ur overall face skin looks less dry and plumpy? But it doesn't do anything for discolorations so far or old scars which I was hoping for Sad Apparently you can use it for any skin and hair. Also they have a special kind they make from seeds of Argan that THEY EAT!! And apparently the ladies from that area where they grow this have beautiful skin  shyhijabi but it is still very expensive, but if you know someone from Maghrib or going back ASK them to get you some!!

K special beauty report over and out  reporter

Find someone at your mosque that's from morrocco and when they go back to visit give them some money and ask them to get you some! Yeah it isn't cheap....the sephora price is ridiculous btw $48/bottle!! I think it's like $20/bottle if you buy it there in maghrib. but I cant still figure out if it's doing anything but at least my face isn't so dry and i haven't broken out?

lol @nafs ok i'll try to be more scientific about my study  chemist

Ohh you're using it on your face... the actual oil? I know Josie Maran (okay maybe I spelled it wrong) has an Argan Oil line ..I used the tinted moisturizer for awhile ... not sure what it was meant to do other than be easy color to slap on ..and SPF of course.

and thank you jannah, I appreciate that *blush*

Salams,

Ok a more updated report on the Argan oil (for Nafsi lol). Ok so I've been using it for a week or two. Not exactly regularly but whenever I remember. My sis in law claims my face skin is better but I really don't see any difference! I think I actually lost weight and eating less junk so that's why my face looked better? It is a really great moisturizer and my skin is definitely less dry and flaky so good base for makeup, but.... at $20 for a tiny bottle don't think it's worth it for just a moisturizer... ponds works just as well and is alot less!

I use Argan oil on my hair, I put some in my hands and then just run my fingers thro damp hair (after I've washed it obviously), it makes it really silky and no tangles and it doesn't look oily.... It didnt turn me into Aish either pre or post baby...

Wow I love this!

Altho I am a little confused about the gelatin usage, I am guessing it's like halal gelatin? ( I am a little too lazy to research it so if someone can enlighten me I'd appreciate it Cheesy)

I reckon the vegetable gelatin would work as well, its only to let the mask set then rip it off.... I wouldn't do it myself. The glycerin trick I've heard before tho.

The coke one scares me, ever since I discovered how good coke is at getting stains out of hard floors I think of it as more along the lines of toilet cleaner, I couldnt put that stuff in my hair, I'm very precious about my hair!

If I ever spill coke anywhere, it is incredibly sticky - there's no way on Earth I'd pour in on my hair and then rinse it out!  Surely it would need shampooing to get it out.  Yuck.  Not trying that one out.

Other tips are good.  I've yet to try out using oats on my skin but I'd like to.  I have some home-made recipe ideas from my Body Shop book and most of them use fruit but I'd rather eat an avocado or banana rather than slather it on my face!

My own personal tip:  if your pencil eyeliner is dry, dip the tip into moisturiser, wipe excess cream on your hands then use.  Voila, pencil won't drag on your eyeline and the colour will be much better.

Mashed bananas also help cracked heels. Just apply them on the heels & wait for them to dry then remove the banana. DON'T apply if there's an opening or a wound it kind of hurts alot!

I just used this honey and oat scrub a couple times and it looks really good. It freshens up and moisturizes the dry skin.
