Summary: Set in Mississippi during the 1960s, a southern society girl returns from college determined to become a writer, but turns her friends' lives -- and a small Mississippi town -- upside down when she decides to interview the black women who have spent their lives taking care of prominent southern families.

This was a really awesome film that made us cry and really think. Everyone needs to watch it!! No bad scenes that I can remember. It actually strongly reminded me of the maid phenomenon in the middle east. How some Sri Lankan/philipino,bengali women who go to Arab countries to be nannies and maids get abused by the racist families Sad

I've wanted to see this since getting back to the States and saw that it has made tons of $$$ though it's been out for some weeks. Hope to catch it before it leaves the theaters! Love these history-based films! Yeah, we need more of these films that make us think and ponder . .
