    Welcome to Madinat Al-Muslimeen, the City of the Muslims. What do you guys think? I think in the Road to Makkah section, we did discuss some of the new developments and how they seem out of touch with the spirituality of the Holy City to say the least. Hope this is the appropriate place for this thread. Please move if not.

Yikes! A very critical article about the construction there and the Saudis. Nothing we haven't been saying before here for years, but the Saudis aren't all that bad. They are trying to modernize and expand. What they don't understand though is how to preserve the original culture and sentiment while doing that...
