Assalamu alaikum

I was wondering if the madinans knew about the free online courses being offered by joint league of universities including Harvard, MIT, Berkeley and others. Many courses were made available for Fall term some of which have already been covered. I registered for an MIT course; Introduction to computer science and programming, the experience has been wonderful and hope to write the final exam January next year.

To find out more of what they offer visit www.edx.org. Very interesting courses have been released for the Spring semester 2013.

Wa'alaikum assalam

I had registered for their very first course and at that time it was just MIT. It seems to have grown now. Coursera is also good and I learnt more from NPTEL than from my profs while in college.

Yeah I learned that MIT offered 6.02x-Circuits and Electronics earlier this year. Students in our class forum do talk about Coursera but I've never bothered to check it out.

I've registered for an Harvard course on Environment next term, why not join me. https://www.edx.org/courses/HarvardX/PH278x/2013_Spring/about

These courses may also be interesting:
Harvard's ER22x: Justice - https://www.edx.org/courses/HarvardX/ER22x/2013_Spring/about
MIT's 14.73x: Challenges of Global Poverty - https://www.edx.org/courses/MITx/14.73x/2013_Spring/about

Practically speaking, I finished Harvard's Justice almost a year ago, if my memory serves me right. Michael Sandel's class lectures are on youtube already.Very interesting if you ask me.

Thank you, Sadah!

An online course would be a great way to start the year off!
