 peace be upon you

Somewhere on this board I read a wonderful piece of literature by a very knowledgeable and respected brother.
It was about taking rulings from a faqih, and not from a muhaddith.

I don't want to get into an argument. Many learned and pious people have discussed it threadbare. This includes Shah Waliullah, who is respected by the Hanafis of the Indo-Pak subcontinent.

Anyway, Bukhari (rematullah alehi) is classified by followers of the four well-known sunni madhabs as a muhaddith, not a faqih. However, if you were to read the titles of the chapters he has used to classify the Hadith, you will find fiqh in that.

This is not my personal opinion. There are many scholars who have explained it thus.

This was just to set the record straight.

may Allah guide us and lead us to jannatul firdaws
