Salam,

Ugh!!! What is wrong with these so-called "Muslims"!! It makes me so mad that they use our beautiful religion for their political/wack purposes. This is such a tragedy Sad Why would anyone want to become Muslim when they see all these crazed extremists killing innocent people?? Sad

Sometimes I hardly want to be a Muslim when I hear this..imagine anyone new!

I'm serious. What's wrong with these people. My friends brother personally lost a lot of friends, neighbors etc as he lives Kenya. Thankfully, my friends family is okay..but still...very close to home...close to ones heart either way...

Ridiculous..what's next.

Their action doesnt make me feel ashamed of my faith because I know the true Islam doesnt teach that. However they make our effort in portraying the beauty of the religion harder which is indeed demoralizing.

It has been sickening watching the casualties on the local media. Alhamdulillah the siege seems to be over as defense forces have taken full control. May Allah bless us with an everlasting peace.

No this does not make me ashamed of my faith either.

It makes me want to scream 'Not in the name of my religion'

It makes me seethe with fury that these people hijack my religion and I suffer from the fall out of their actions for it.

The are cowards or they would stand up and take responsibility for their actions, not cower behind a religion its all the fashion to currently hate against.

And when My servants question thee concerning Me, then surely I am nigh. I answer the prayer of the suppliant when he crieth unto Me. So let them hear My call and let them trust in Me, in order that they may be led aright. Surah 2  Verse 186

It does not make feel ashamed to be a Muslim.  It just makes so angry and helpless at these cowards. If there was a way to wipe out Al-Shabab and all those who are like them, I would the first on the front line.  Seriously, how can these people be stopped once and for all???

A former colleague of mine died in that mall. He was shot while holding his 13 year old daughter's hand. He had retired and was waiting to leave Kenya after his daughter finished school and was to travel the following Monday.  His name was Juan Otis. I cried when I heard the tragic news.  I used to shop there a lot.  Kenya is home for me and I have family and friends there.  I called everyone hoping that none of them was there that day. Juan was.

Search senseless killings!

It actually makes me feel ashamed that we are not doing the dawah/educating that we should be doing. Somewhere we are not doing enough to educate people about what is allowed in Islam and how to channel our anger/revenge feelings over injustices towards us in the world.

Discounting all conspiracy theories, how can people who are "Muslims" believe this is allowed or even beloved to Allah. It just boggles. In my mind, I think these people have the same problem non-religious poeple have, they do wack stuff - justifying it to themselves with things like 'the ends justify the means'- and then they do stuff thinking 'Oh Allah will forgive me.'

Allah mustu'an.

The other people I was really worried whom I immediately thought about was my dentist - Pushpa Sachdeva and her husband Sunil who is an orthodontist. Their dental practice is on the 4th floor of the Westgate Mall. My first though was "oh no!" I have known them is 1993 and they treated my boys and I. And on Saturday, the clinic is packed with patients. The rooftop parking is adjacent to it which even puts all there in a dangerous situation as targets. Their clinic is among others on the 4th floor, all private practices.

Trying to find any information about their condition for day on end,  I came across this link in the web, where Sunil is among those relating the ordeal from his perspective. Please scroll down hour after hour to 16.35:

Here is the clinic's website:

I am just so relieved and glad they and their patients are all safe. The sachdeva's have two sons like me. My sons wanted to know if I had any news about them. When I finally sent them the link, they were happy to know that they are fine. I can't even begin to imagine how harrowing that must have been.
